I keep having dreams about my high school orchestra director stopping rehearsals to berate me in front of everyone. In the one I had last night, he yelled at me for being late to rehearsal because I was “too busy looking at British Mapquest and getting a fountain drink from the mall,” which, I have to hand it to him, was exactly what I had been doing.

Strange and terrible dreams last night: 1. that my dog was dead; and 2. that, through some tectonic madness, California had folded over on top of Texas and living there was like living in a cave, with the now-upside-down California as a dripping cave ceiling and Texas as the cave floor.
